All slicer software I know\nadds a comment line in the gCode file with the expected length in mm. But\nnormally I buy the filament in kilograms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Weighing the already\nclamped roll is a viable way. Most of the time you have an empty roll lying\naround, which you can subtract from it. Then you have the effective weight of\nthe filament that you need for the current print.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the last weeks I have\nreworked the filament calculator and put it online at http:\/\/tools.3deee.ch<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Now you can use the\nFilament Calculator to convert volume into length and weight. Of course, this\ncan also be done in all other directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n New is not only the\nconversion of volumes into lengths and vice versa. Also new is that you can\nupload an STL file and then the bounding box and the volume will be read\nautomatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can then have this\nautomatically converted into lengths and weight. There is also a first version\nof an online STL viewer, which is still buggy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition you can now,\nwith the spool calculator, convert whole spools into weight and volume in a\nsimpler way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I still have a few more\nideas what you could program for tools in the future, but now I keep the ball a\nbit flat with new announcements \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n I hope you like it.
